CRYPTOLABO is a digital solution which certifies the "controlled designation of origin" of measurements performed on nuclear components during the manufacturing process.
Over the period of 2015 to 2017, France’s nuclear industry topped the headlines following the discovery of manufacturing defects on components used in nuclear reactors (the "Creusot" case). This involved the falsification of data in laboratory measurements designed to guarantee the quality of manufactured parts.
In order to avoid fraudulent practices and keep a close track of the manufacturing process, EDF’s Industrial Department, R&D and IT/Telecom Department developed an innovative system in order to certify measurements as "controlled designation of origin".
By means of a box connected to a BlockChain, Cryptolabo can be used to collect real-time manufacturing data and prevent this data from being falsified.
This totally novel system identifies defects at an early stage and revolutionises the auditor’s job by providing traceability from start to finish with a high level of confidence.
